wt.ag/ruin9NMy flop call was mostly just an effort to keep the SB in the pot. Didn't work.. but that was my thinking at the time. Didn't raise the turn either.. perhaps I should have? I just don't see how I could find a call after the river. Too much in his range either gives him a higher set, a straight or a flush. I think I'm starting to hate jacks.

Hi,
Was UTG opening a lot? Flatting pre vs utg is not bad but depends on his pfr from early position. I think on the flop you simply have to 3bet to get it in vs a draw or overpair etc. A lot of cards can potentially kill your action.

At this point I had less than 20 hands on him.. but I certainly hadn't seen anything out of line from him.

I always raise on this kind of flop. Trying to pump as much money as possible into the pot before some ugly cards pop up.

We will often fold out his bluffs, but raising flop ensures we stack overpairs, and allows us to charge him if he has a draw. Your turn sizing is also too small, the board is very drawy and villain can call you with a lot of hands, so make it big and get maximum value from your hand. River is a good fold, nice discipline
