What do you guys do vs 3bets oop. Are you strictly 4betting or folding? Or calling some hands?
From a mathematical perspective, we open mp for 3bb and get 3bet by the Button to 10bb, he is risking 10bb to win 4.5bb. 10/(10+4.5)= 69% is the frequency it needs to work to be profitable. So by this logic the players left to act and us need to 4bet a combined 31% of the time to not get exploited. Calling seems to be the worse because he is getting a flop IP with a polarized range vs the our medium range.
Naturally the above is more pointed towards a optimal player. If a nit is only 3betting 4% vs EP and MP opens we can exploit him by only 4betting our value range because his 3bet range doesn't have any bluffs. However, against a optimal player would you ever call? If so what hands are you calling?
